Hi, folks,

I have posted a new release, v.0.17.1, of CK-ERP, at SourceForge.Net, http://sourceforge.net/projects/ck-erp .

New features include,
1.Connector for osCommerce 2.2ms2-051113
2.Resource lock release
3.Compatibility with MySQL5

CK-ERP is an open source accounting/ERP/CRM system that runs on top of eGroupWare / osCommerce / Xaraya / Horde / TikiWiki / phpBB. It comprises 20 modules - Administration, i18n, Contact Management, Customer Relationship, Customer Self Service, Vendor Relationship, Ledger, Bank Reconciliation, Inventory, Service, AP, AR, PO, SO, Quotation, POS for Cashier, POS for Manager, HR, Staff Self Service and Payroll. Operating platform can either be LAMP or LAPP. It provides accounting and back office functionalities to SMEs and utilizes the underlying middleware to administer accounts/groups. Please report error and suggestion to the discussion group / mailing list, CK-ERP-en(at)googlegroups.com or CK-ERP-zh_CN(at)googlegroups.com . General history and expected development is available at the discussion group’s Archive.

Latest tested working environment:
FC4 - (Apache 2.0.54, php 5.0.4, Postgres 8.0.3)
- (eGW 1.2RC6 / osC 2.2 / Xaraya 1.0.2 / Horde 3.0.9 / TW 1.9.2 / phpBB 2.0.19)
MagicLinux 2.0RC3 + XAMPP for Linux 1.5.1

(Apache 2.2, php 5.1.1, MySQL 5.0.18)
- (eGW 1.2RC6 / osC 2.2 / Xaraya 1.0.2 / Horde 3.0.9 / TW 1.9.2 / phpBB 2.0.19)
[Because Horde 3.0.9 had compatibility problem with php 5.1.1, the alternative environment of FC4 / MySQL 4.1.11 was used for testing. Users had also reported success in running previous versions of CK-ERP within Debian and Mandrake]

I am wondering what do people think of CK-ERP? Is anyone using it?

In particular, how do people view the restriction made on redistribution:
“If you re-distribute this module (modified or not), it is your moral
obligation to display this index page exactly as it is or as
translation into a different language without loss of meaning. Failure
to do so is strong evidence that you intend to defraud users by
concealing critical pitfalls and/or shortcomings of this module.”

I don’t need the functionality, so I don’t use it.

In particular, how do people view the restriction made on redistribution:

Stupid restriction, as far as I can see, it’s distributed under the GPL
so anyone can do anything with it, as long as it stays GPL. If CK Wu
wants to put restrictions on the app he shouldn’t use GPL software,
simple as that.
