Csv export not comma seperated

It was just pointed out to me that the csv export is actually
semicolon seperated, with a \n delimiting the record by default.
I think that changing the csv_options[‘delimiter’] to ‘,’ should make
it CSV by default, but I’m not sure about where to set the EOR marker
(not that it needs to be anything else).

Should I make this ; -> , change?

Extra punctuation??? Ug!!!
Just say no! Punctuation marks do not gain significance if you
increase their number, they make you look silly. One is sufficient.

The CSV Export does have another problem, as far as I know.
It is regarding the export of records that contain carriage returns and/or
line feeds.
I suggest some more testing before you do the change. The delimiting char
may be a minor
matter.
I did not have the chance to have a closer look yet. Ralf had something in
mind, as he designed
the delimiters and row separators as he did. As far as I know he tested with
OpenOffice.

As far as I know, you use the extension CSV regardless of the delimiter.
’;’ is chosen because it is less common in the content of the fields
(which get of cause quoted, if they contain it).

So far any application I came across, capable of importing CSV, can
choose the delimiter.
