Hello Cheryl,
an update to a newer eGW Version is (normally) quite easy. Backup the
file header.inc.php to a save place. Replace the existing old eGW
installation (the files, not the database) with the new ones. Copy your
old header.inc.php to the new eGW installation. Then go to setup and
setup detects that your database is outdated. Afterwards you can start a
database update from here with a few clicks.
Important note: Please have tests on a non-production environment (and
make backups !!) before you do that to avoid unnecessary data loss.
I have an issue in my mind regarding updates from 1.0.x, so please be
careful.
Bye
Christian

Hi:
I need step by step instructions on how to use the CSV Import function (in
Admin) to import existing data into a new egroupware database.
I have recently installed Egroupware version 1.4.002 on a RedHat Linux
server. But I have Egroupware 1.0.0.006 running on a separate server. I
didn’t see version 1.2 available on the web site to upgrade to first before
I upgrade to 1.4.
So now , I need to get the data (especially in Infolog) from version 1.0.006
into version 1.4.002. I still have them running on two separate servers. I
know that the table structure is somewhat different from 1.0.006 to 1.4.002.
Can I use the CSV import function in version 1.4.002 to get CSV files
created from version 1.0.006 to import existing data from the old version?
If so, how?
Also, what tables in the old version (phpgw_…) must I make sure to update
in the new version (egw_…)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Cheryl Dixon
