Hi Harondel,
Was testing a beta version of a syncml client with support for Notes and Pocket Informant and to
make a long story short, I had to restore from database backup which I do every 3 hours. This is
something I’ve had in place since 1.6.x and it’s worked well, however I noticed that after restoring
from backup, my email account setup in EGW was missing and I had to re-input all the settings,
imap, smtp, signature, sieve etc.
The question is what changes do I need to make to the backup configuration so that the email
settings for all accounts are kept, so that in event of a disaster recovery, server
rebuild/replacement, once the DB has been restored, it’s pretty quick to get users back to work
rather than having to recreate all the email account settings.
Given the above, is there likely other data that is not being backed up currently.
You dont have to do something special to backup all tables incl. ones
for email configuration (egw_ea_*).
If you want to check if the table have been backup up correctly, simply
unzip/-compress the backup file and open it in a text-editor. Fileformat
is like CSV for each table, you will see.
