Database Migration PG to MySQL

Dear all,

I’ve been a very happy user of eGroupware for a number of years but this is my first post here.

I have a quick question related to a standby system I have to act as a live backup to a production eGroupware system that is on Postgres. Can I use MySQL on this standby system. Is there an easy way to move the database from one to the other or would I be better to remain on Postgres as that’s what I have in production.

Longer term I’m considering dropping Postgres and this would be a first step in that process.

Hi Ken,

You can try to backup your EGroupware, download it, upload it to the new EGw and then restore the db:

If you also need to convert the character set, you should try it through the setup.

Try it. This can, but does not have to work immediately. Especially with old installations there can always be something…
