During installation, I made a mistake concerning the mysql db. I purged everything and found files that was not erased. Anyhow, the installation dialogue does not return when I reinstall. The information must be retained somewhere. So, I cannot reinstall.
I use debian squeeze on my server without X. I installed as recommended adding a egroupfile to /etc/apt/ and installed through apt-get.
