Searched a bit and found:
The digital signature for a signed e-mail is sent as an attachment to that
e-mail. This attachment is automatically checked by the e-mail program of
the recipient. However, email module of egroupware just shows the signature
as an attachment with the filename “smime.p7s” and does not run a check of
the signature.
