Hello
bump
any ideas?
Customer is running EGW 14.1 and also has a shared Office 365 account and
would like to have the calendar contents from Office365 display inside the EGW
calendar so they have a view of all the appointments, their own and the shared
appointments.
What is the best way of going about this?
I assume the EGW instance needs to subscribe to the O365 calendar?
Disclaimer: I am not an expert on Office 365 and Exchange or Outlook, so
what follows might not be accurate or even completely false. I never
tried any of this and only answer the question for fun and because I
found some interesting (and very complicated) things by googling
sometime ago.
First, eGroupware is a calendar-server, not a client.
It might be easier to integrate the two calendars (Office 365 and
eGroupware) in one client, Outlook for example, or Thunderbird with the
integrated Lightning calendar addon. Since Microsoft doesn’t support
CalDAV, that might not be so easy. There is an “Exchange-addon” for
Thunderbird (from 2012).
Another (more complicated) approach would be to sync the office 365
calendar with eGroupware. But due to the lack of CalDAV-support from MS,
this might not be possible.
To solve the non-CalDAV-problem on the MS site, you could install a
DAVMail-server:
http://davmail.sourceforge.net/
To sync the DAVmail-server with eGrouwpare, you could install vdirsync:
https://vdirsyncer.pimutils.org/en/stable/
Bringing all the elements together could be very funny, but I guess it
will be very time consuming.
If you go the DAVmail and vdirsync way (or use another approach), please
let us know.
