According to the EGroupware Wiki one can set up Outlook freebusy as follows to interact with egroupware:
Retrieve Free/Busy in Outlook
To get the Free/Busy time in Outlook, you have to use: Tools --> Option --> Calendar Options --> Free/Busy Options --> Search location:
for eGroupware v1.4: "http://example.org/egroupware/icalsrv/icalsrv.php/%NAME%/freebusy.ifb"
for eGroupware v1.6: “http://example.org/egroupware/icalsrv.php/%NAME%/freebusy.ifb”
However this will fail with a general error in Outlook. When I access this url through a browser I get a popup asking me for a login and password. My guess is that Outlook does not provide this login and password and hence cannot access the freebusy information.
I allow not logged in users to access freebusy information through the calendar settings, but I think this only applies for the freebusy url provided by the calendar (http://example.com/egroupware/calendar/freebusy.php?user=username) and not for the icalsrv version of the freebusy info.
Using http://example.com/egroupware/calendar/freebusy.php?user=%NAME% as freebusy url for Outlook also fails with a general error while that specific url does work if accessed directly through a browser.
Is there any way to access the freebusy info through Outlook that actually works?
I’m using the Funambol Outlook Sync Client to synchronize contacts / calendar & tasks and that is working fine. Just the freebusy info that I cannot get to work.
Thanks for any help!
