Egroupware 1.6001 + Synthesis Syncml = error 403

Hi !

I am new to this forum, but not new to egroupware and syncml…

I had to reinstall my server with fedora 9 a while ago.
I also installed egw 1.6001 on apache 2.2.9-1 and php 5.2.9 plus mysql 14.12…
So far so good, egroupware itself seems to run fine. I am using a cell phone with Synthesis SyncML, which worked fine on egw 1.4 before btw…
Now I am getting an error code 403 every time I try to sync. My apache-log says:

Hi Christian !

Thank you for the hint !
After applying the patch I was too dumb to activate the application for the user…
After doing so, I always got “No SyncML response” on my cell phone. Checking the sync-logs I found out that something was wrong with the egw_syncml-tables. So I just emptied them manually and now it works fine. (Just if anybody has the same problem in the future…)

Thanks again, I am happy to have a working sync-solution now

I’m having trouble syncing now I’ve installed this new patch.
I’m on eGW 1.6001 and the latest Synthesis SyncML client on a Palm Treo.

Normal sync Events seems to go through the motions (completes “Checking”, sends 71 of 88 Events then waits for a bit until it just says “No SyncML response”

Normal sync contacts wants to write all my Palm contacts into eGW again as duplicates.

What’s going on?

And although the new yingyang SyncML button appears on my eGW, and I can click on it to get an info page, for the life of me, I can’t find the SyncML preferences.

OK I upped the memory limit and it didn’t fail as fast, but it still failed on that same error.
I checked my Palm and it was syncing at SyncML 1.1 protocol, so I swapped to SyncML 1.2 and now it works fine.

So if patching with this new SyncML eGW patch, make sure you use that protocol on your handheld device.

I should clarify.
My calendar syncs fine.
My contacts however do not.
The Palm pilot SyncML client accepts 700 of my contacts, and reports the remaining 2100 as having errors, and therefore does not sync them.
This also means any sync session takes over half an hour, since it goes through all entries.
The data in my Apache log appears as such per rejected entry (and so makes a HUGE apache log since there are 2100 or so rejected contacts)

OK something seriously wrong now.

Since this new SyncML patch, none of my backups will restore. If I try to restore, it restores all my contacts, but no infologs, projects, links or knowledge base or anything.
The restore resets the admin settings and to get it back to usable, I have to run through the entire setup procedure from scratch incl dropping the Mysql table and starting that setup as well.

What the hell have I done wrong? I took the MYSQL patch on since it was recommended in this forum and I"ve had nothing but trouble. Can anyone shed some light on this, I’ve just lost 8 days of project management / timesheeting and address book entries.

Some background info : I backup nightly, and from the file sizes of the backups, Jul 2nd backup was 1.7 meg, and the next day Jul 3rd (the day I implemented the SyncML patch and synced my phone) the backup is 1.4meg.
Why? The Jul 2nd restores fine, but Jul 3 onward backups borks my entire eGW. I basically get my account with only addressbook full, none of the other applications have any data in them.

Hi,

I think the error reappeared in 1.6.003-2.
I get it while trying to Sync from Nokia N95 8Gb.
The error did not appear in 1.6.002, at least with Calendar-only sync.
