Hello eGW users,
since the update to eGroupware-1.8.004.20130322 my users face a new problem concerning GroupDAV enabled calendar clients. When an invite is issued, the event appears in the invitees calendar as before. However now, when confirming the invite using the GroupDAV Client (in our case Kontact and TB/Lightning), write access to the event is denied and the event confirmation fails.
The issue is related to edit permissions in the event creators calendar. If “edit” is set for the invitees (or his respective group), the above error does not occur, as the invitee can change the event. However it is rarely desired for invitees to edit the whole event, only confirm it.
Using the Webinterface, the above problem does not occur. The invitee can properly accept/deny the invitation in a calendar event, even if he/she is not the owner of the event (the user is only invited and does not have editing permissions in the event owners calendar).
I am not sure if this is a feature, as technically the permission system does take the appropriate action by denying write access to the event. If so, is there a default setting to overwrite this behavior and revert to the behavior of the previous version (eGroupware-1.8.004.20121024), apart from allowing global editing of calendar events? If this is a bug, a bugfix would be much appreciated.
Regards,
