EGroupware 1.8 and KDE 4.7.4

Hi,

I’m using EGroupware 1.8 (1.8.004.20120515) with KDE and since I upgraded to
KDE 4.7.4 I can’t get GroupDAV resources working anymore. I’m using legacy
KResources with Akonadi and I can’t get folder list in Akonadi but I can
access to GroupDAV resources in a web browser.

I know there were also GroupDAV related changes recently in EGroupware. Do you
have any idea what could be wrong ?

No real idea.

I brought the problem to the KDE team in person of Gregory Oestreicher:
As you can see in the attached reply, it works with the current KDE
release 4.8 and there are no more releases in 4.7 branch.

I’m willing to make a bugfix release for the problem, if we can identify
and fix it. First step would be to produce a traffic log, so I might be
able to identify what’s the problem. You can switch on trafficlog in
EGroupware under CalDAV, CardDAV, GroupDAV Server >> Preferences: Enable
logging: “Requests and full responses to files directory”.

You can view / follow the log via “Show log of following device” in the
same menu.

Most helpful would be logs of just what’s going wrong and not a huge log
with many thousand lines …

1)First check if you have "CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV Server"
Application enabled for at least one of the Groups you are a member of.
1.1)If the app “CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV Server” is not showing in the applist, go to setup install groupdav app.
Make sure you register hooks, just in case.
Check (1) again.
2) If you do not have rights, apply them.
3) Click on Preferences in the TopMenu (If no TopMenu is present, Choose Preferences from the General Menu Section of the sidebar)
4) Groupdav should be the second app. Just below preferences. The Logo says GroupDAV the app-name is CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV server
5) Click on Preferences below the GroupDAV Logo.

I just have “groupdav” in the permissions, not “CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV
Server”.

1.1)If the app “CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV Server” is not showing in the
applist, go to setup install groupdav app. Make sure you register hooks,
just in case.
Check (1) again.

I don’t have “CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV Server” in the applications list,
but how can I add it exactly ? Do I have to install a deb package on my system
?

I don’t understand why I am able to use GroupDAV if the application is not
installed…

“CalDAV, CardDAV and GroupDAV Server” are voices of a menu inside kde pim;
you should check them in kde (akonadi config->egroupware resources or
whatever->chose+modify->select groupdav protocol & url, modify-> you
should see them now)

On eg side, only groupdav app has to be selected, you were correct.
By the way kde 4.7.4 isn’t working for me either. Today I’ll dist-upgrade
and see if it will work

To let the contacts appear I needed to recreate the egroupware resource
inside akonadi, after deleting the previous I had. At the begining, you
are only allowed to create a resouce which looks for cldav and carddav;
I’ve created it by putting the right path of my server (without
/groupdav.php). Once configured, I went back on modifying that resource;
I’ve deleted the caldav and caddav and put instead the path for
groupdav.php. Saved, reloaded, everything’s back. I didn’t check which kde
version I have now yet.
