Egroupware 1.8 - Debian Lenny - MyDMS dependency error

Good afternoon,

I have updated my eGroupware 1.6 version over an eGroupware version 1.8 on a Debian Lenny.

It seems that all work fine but when I check the installation, it remains a depency error with mydms.

Here you can find the error claimed by the post-install process

mydms-Post-install Dependency Failure:(appname: phpgwapi; versions: 1.4,1.5,1.6,1.7; appname: phpgwapi; versions: 1.4,1.5,1.6,1.7; ))P

I dont know what the “P” means (before I had a D letter)

As explained before, it seems that all egroupware works correctly, but, I dont know what is phpgwapi, and how update this software to meet the minimum requirement for mydms

When I go to the “possible solution”, I can read

Problem resolution:
“mydms” may be broken because an application it depends upon was upgraded
to a version it does not know about.
However, the application may still work.

If anyone could help me, it would be appreciated.

MyDMS was deprecated in 1.6 and is now no longer part of the 1.8
packages. Your existing 1.6 MyDMS package has wrong dependencies in
/usr/share/mydms/setup/setup.inc.php.

You can edit that file and add ‘1.8’ to the phpgwapi versions.

You should think about moving to filemanager app, as MyDMS in EGroupware
is dead.

Nope, your advice didn’t work.

I have change the file /usr/share/egroupware/mydms/setup/setup.inc.php

‘versions’ => array(‘1.4’,‘1.5’,‘1.6’,‘1.7’,‘1.8’)

There was a “A” capital on ‘versions’ => Array, I have changed it and put ‘1.8’ as well.

Restarted Apache2 server… and the error is still here, but now I have a D letter (may be deprecated) and no “possible solution” anymore.

If I try to understand, was MyDMS the old Filemanager in eGroupware ?
And now ?

But, I don’t plan to use filemanagers stuff until I am not sure were are stored the files, and how I can retrieve them in case of failure.

Did you uninstall and then re-install mydms?

I too would like to use mydms under 1.8, I know it’s “Dead” but it has features that filemanager still does not
