Hi Cédric,
Hi Ralph,
Thank you for your answer. That is exactly what I was afraid to learn
about.
I have done some tests and the number of appointments synced may have a
huge impact on the server performances.
It should not have or maximum on the first sync.
We are currently working on SyncML performance, not sure if we can
backport the fixes easily to 1.8, we’ll see.
Anyway your solution is the only solution I have at the moment, I will
have to do some PHP/MySQL tuning I think.
Is it planned to change this behaviour in the future releases of EGW ?
No, as I wrote it’s the desired behavior, as most mobile devices have
limited resources and you can set higher limits.
Ralf
Hi Cédric,
deleting (non-recurring) events outside the time range is the expected
and desired behavior.
If you want to keep more historic items, you need to change the time range.
Ralf
Any idea someone ?
Do not hesitate to ask me further details if needed.
This is a big issue for us as this bug wasn’t in EGW 1.6.001.
Some help would really be appreciated.
Hi everyone !
I am running EGW 1.6.003 with syncml and Funambol clients to allow
calendar sync with Outlook.
Since the update to 1.6.003 I have noticed that ,while syncing with
Funambol, appointments in Outlook wich are not in the “sync range”
(aka 1 month in the past and 1 year in the future) are deleted (moved
to deleted items), this didn’t happen with 1.6.001.
I have found where the “sync range” is set in EGW but I don’t want to
touch this as it may overload my server (too many events to sync). The
Funambol setup has no impact on this problem as I have tried every
possible setup and every available version. Furthermore it was working
before the update from 1.6.001.
From the log of Funambol client (all 8.x versions) I can see that this
is EGW (syncml) that tells to delete these appointements.
Is there a way to avoid this behaviour ?
Thanks for your help.
Best regards,
Cédric CANITROT
