EGroupware Card and CalDAV sync with outlook - cannot connect to global / shared addressbooks and calendars

Good afternoon!

Heres my problem:
My company is wanting to use a new piece of software that does not have any native connectivity to thunderbird, but does with outlook. We already have licenses for microsoft office so we just need to sync our card and cal dav data which with the plugin Outlook CalDav Synchronizer we can do this.

However, the syncronizer is only able to find the personal address book of who ever loads the software, not the globally shared address book. same with calendars, it finds only the user calendar and not the global one.

Im of course asking the same question to the Outlook CalDav Synchronizer team, but I wanted to know if this is possible? and have i just got something misconfigured.

I know the global address book and calendars are able to be synced as I can do so with thunderbird without issue.

Outlook version: Latest provided with office 365 / MS office standard 2019
eGroupware Version: 21.1.20230210 (I know i need to update, its planned)
Outlook CalDav Synchronizer version: 4.4.1.0

Which path/URL do you enter?

Do you keep the other address books added in your user settings?
Everything you have access to is not automatically synced.

When using Thunderbird, to sync all address books, I need to use the TBsync plugin and can use the URL https://egroupware.example.de, this then autocompletes to https://egroupware.example.de/.well-known/carddav and https://egroupware.example.de/.well-known/caldav finds all of the addressbooks and calendars that I have access too.
If i use the same URL within the outlook sync software then I receive only My address book and my calendar but no others.

when using the auto discover by the outlook sync software then it automatically finds the following:
https://egroupware.example.de/egroupware/groupdav.php/example.user/addressbook/
which then only finds the users own calendar and contact list.

I have found it and was being seriously dumb! it certainly was the URL, though I was hoping the sync software would have been as smart as the TBSync software. instead i needed to use the direct path to the Default Groups groupdav address book.

It is almost always the URL.
The clients handle this quite differently. Just as *DAV servers present the data differently.

Which URL did you use now?

I need to use the TBsync plugin

Thunderbird has been able to integrate CardDAV address books directly for some time.
But then it may behave differently at that point. I’m not quite sure at the moment…

I needed to use the direct groupdav url instead of the above.
when using Thunderbirds native card and cal dav connections then this works as well, though TBsync allows for just inputting the base url (egroupware.example.de) and this would then find all available address books and calendars.
