Egroupware email

Hello,

I installed egroupware on a hosted server and for some reason the email module isnt working.
I configured a yahoo email and i can see the folders on the left ( inbox etc. ) but thats it. Doesnt work doing anything with them.

Here’s a screenshoot with the problem.

Anyone has any solution to it ?

Hello

I have had my EGW server/email reading my yahoo account for over a year now, but am frustrated with the speed at present. When I first set it up, I could read & repy to email almost as fast as our own domain email worked. Unfortunatel, yahoo has said “Fuck our customers!” and is busy wrecking their product. I have gotten so sick & tired of the crapware that yahoo has become, that I finally went out and bought my own domain and now handle all my personal email via that server. This egw subscription is the one thing I am having trouble with migrating - cannot change the email address at the mailing list server for some reason.

I strongly encourage you to quit yahoo and try a different provider.

Hi,

Just a short note regarding imap access to far email servers:

Please note, when you connect to remote imap server, you got the speed of the remote imap server, because egw does not use email cache. This is why google mail and others are so slow and seems crappy.

in the other hand, local email server should be very quick.

So, your question is, how can you manage this kind of speed issue?

If you own your egw server, you are lucky: you can use imap cache/proxy on your linux server. It will speed up the speed and response time, but of course, it will need resources (memory). Just check your distribution, google it and try out some.

Does anyone have an answer to the original posters problem? I am having the same issue with gmail. I get the exact same page, all my folders how up, and they indicate the number of unread emails, but I cannot see the emails. I don’t think this is a problem with yahoo or google, or I would not be able to see my folders. I even tried to set up a different account and got the same results…

Hi,

I have gmail account, too, with 1.8.004 it is working well, except slower than my own email servers as expected.

Any info in the apache logs? PHP script execution timeout? try increase from 30sec to 90sec (just an idea)

i get this notification on installation check:
“Warning Checking extension imap is loaded or loadable: False
The imap extension is needed from: EMailAdmin, felamimail, tracker.”

But my host says imap is installed on the server. Could that be the problem why i cant open the inbox and other folders?

Changing timeout made no difference. This is kind of frustrating because it
was working fine. I am running a small Ubuntu server (yeah I know) but it
has been working fine for what I want…

I figured it out, and as usual, it was something simple. I did not have “do
not validate certicate” checked.
Checked the box and all was good…
I guess google must have changed their certificate recently…
