Hi Kevin,
Hello,
I have configured a LDAP (Ubuntu 14.04) server using the default settings.
It has been shown to work with Redmine for example.
However, our Egroupware login is more of a challenge. Login and applications
work fine without LDAP, but when logged in with a user created in LDAP.
Egroupware shows a blank screen, without calendar, contacts etc. The LDAP
user information can be seen in the lower right corner of the screen, and
trying a bad passord fails as expected, so I’m certain EGroupware is
communicating properly with LDAP.

The EGroupware has been installed on an Ubuntu 14.04 from the OpenSUSE
repository
(http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/eGroupWare/xUbuntu_14.04/),
using the default settings. EGroupware has been configured to access LDAP
like shown below:

What am I forgetting to do in Egroupware?
Hard to say, nothing you wrote above is wrong or indicates a problem.
LDAP connection is obviously working, as you can log on.
LDAP support in current EGroupware is working, we have a couple of LDAP
installations ourself.
First thing I would do is to look in Apache error.log …
