Dear Ralf,

I wonder if there are any plans including the ability of syncing SyncML
devices using auth-md5 instead of auth-basic.
It seems (to me) that modern devices use md5 authentication, so that
would be a nice feature for egroupware to get it in sync with both email
clients and mobile devices.

Somewhere I read about horde being able to use auth-md5 and I saw, that
egroupware makes use of some of the horde libs.
Maybe this feature is already in the development sources?

I am currently working at importing the current version of the horde
syncml libs. auth-md5 is part of it but relies on the clear text version
of the password (or some equivalent) to be stored on the server. That
limitation has consequences that you will have to evaluate for your site.
