Egroupware14.1 mail: search non-latin characters failed

Hi everybody!

Does anybody try using search function at the Egroupware 14.1 mail application?

Seems that only latin characters search works, but others are not (e.g.cyrillic).

Does anybody has the same issue with mail application in Egroupware 14.1 ?

Details as per follows:

1. Software: Egroupware 14.1 20140923

2. Application: mail

3. Function: search for emails

4. Page Element: id=“mail-index_search” name="search"
   Filled with word in Russian: “Привет”, that means “Hi” in Russian

5. Action: Click on button: id=“mail-index_search_button”

6. Result: “No matches found.” shown, but there is a lot of emails with word “Привет” actually

But, when I fill the searching element with word “Hi”, there were many emails found. So, it looks like the searching function does not work with non-latin characters.

Is it a bug?

Probably not, we send your search-string direct to your imap server.

Does searching for such an non-ascii string works in any other mail
client with same server?

Hi,

Mail server: MS Exchange
Mail client: Alpine 2.10+dfsg-1
OS: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS

Alpine mail client searching function (“whereis”) works well with the same mail server. Tried to search with non-ascii words.

How can I check other details for clarifying the email searching problem with Egroupware mail client (non-ascii words)?
