Hi Ruud,
egw-pear was always disabled according to your database.
So I think you or a group you are a member off, had run rights for
egw-pear. Can you check that:
SELECT * FROM egw_acl WHERE acl_appname=‘egw-pear’ and acl_location=‘run’
Removing the application also removes all acl entries from it.
Ralf
Hi Ralph,
that did the trick, thanks for solving this.
please find below the result from the query (run before / after
disabling application),
thanks,
Ruud.

Hi Ruud,
Hi,
congratulations in the release of RC 1.8.001 of egroupware.
Installed is via repo (CentOS) and already love the new look /
features.
I also found some strange things that I will post here (separate
threads to
keep a good oversight).
after installation (upgrade from 1.6.003) I now have a ‘new’ icon in my
topbar:
EGW-PEAR -> a yellow box with a question mark.
Can you run the following SQL on your DB and post the result:
SELECT * from egw_applications WHERE app_name=‘egw-pear’;
After go to setup and remove egw-pear application in manage applications
and install it again. That should fix your problem / hide egw-pear again.
Ralf
pressing the icon gives me a ‘not found: The requested URL
/egroupware/egw-pear/index.php was not found on this server.’ error.
how do I get rid of this icon as I do not know what it is for and it
was
never there before?
thanks,
Ruud.
