Egw, syncml and changing timezone question

Hi all, I use a Nokia N97’s syncml function to sync
calendar/to-do/addresses to a 1.6 egw server. It works fine.

My account, the server and the 'phone are all set to UK time zone at the
moment.

I’m due to travel next week to Canada where I will be on both EST (-5)
and Atlantic (-4) time. I know that the phone will pick up the timezone
from the mobile network while roaming.

What will happen to my appointment times if I sync the phone? The
server/my account will still be in UK time and the phone will be on some
other timezone? Should I change the timezone of my account on the server?

Hi Ken,

the problem will be that the 1.6 has no full timezone-support. You ca
run into problems when the server and the client operating in different
timezones. This is solved in 1.8 but you should be careful with 1.6

Thank you, Birgit. I’ll avoid syncing when the phone is out of the UK. I plan an upgrade to 1.8 fairly soon.
