“EGW with outlook - funambol syncML”

1.) install EGW
(without xmlrpc - service -> xmlrpc - service is only necc. for EGWsync)

2.) open your browser -> then open: http://domin.com/egroupware/rpc.php
then you should “ONLY” get the message
"You should access this URL only with a SyncML enabled device."

 if you see something like: "mbstring.func_overload should be 0"

then insert to your apache config:
<Location /egroupware/rpc.php>
php_value mbstring.func_overload 0
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

then restart apache - and try the test on point 2

3.) install funambol client for outlook 3.0.15 and open the config mask
there input:
.) username
.) passwort
.) url: http://domin.com/egroupware/rpc.php
.) then click on log-option “debug”

then config option under: “remote option” ->
change the parts:

Contacts: sifcontacts
Calendar: sifcalendar
Tasks: siftasks
(notes is not supported)

then activate Contacts, Calendar, Tasks

that’s it.

if it doesn’t work, then see the log options and post it

Did you use an admin administration interface like Cpanel, VHCS, IspConfig ?

If yes , you have to change your file httpd.conf (apache) or apache2.conf (apache 2) diffrently than :
<Location /egroupware/rpc.php>
php_value mbstring.func_overload 0
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

I’ll try to find the small code to add in apapche2.conf if your are in this case : )

I have the following problem:
I’m trying to sync with Outlook 2007 with the 3.0.15 client version. It seems that the calender doesn’t sync all items + the contacts are not synchronized at all.

then insert to your apache config:

3.) install funambol client for outlook 3.0.15 and open the config mask

it seems to be a problem on your version of installation:
for me - Funambol 8.x is working fine.
try to reinstall - check the settings in funambol.

i only know, that EGW have some problems on birthday (recurrency) appointments and also not fully support “vcalendar protocol”.
additional - there are some bugs on latest trunk with appointments for 1970 (like birthdays from Outlook addressbook)

1.) install EGW
(without xmlrpc - service -> xmlrpc - service is only necc. for EGWsync)

2.) open your browser -> then open: http://domin.com/egroupware/rpc.php
then you should “ONLY” get the message
"You should access this URL only with a SyncML enabled device."
 if you see something like: "mbstring.func_overload should be 0"
then insert to your apache config:
<Location /egroupware/rpc.php>
php_value mbstring.func_overload 0
Order allow,deny
Allow from all

then restart apache - and try the test on point 2

3.) install funambol client for outlook 3.0.15 and open the config mask
there input:
.) username
.) passwort
.) url: http://domin.com/egroupware/rpc.php
.) then click on log-option “debug”

then config option under: “remote option” ->
change the parts:

Contacts: sifcontacts
Calendar: sifcalendar
Tasks: siftasks
(notes is not supported)

then activate Contacts, Calendar, Tasks

that’s it.
