eGW14 - XDEBUG support

Hello !

For Debug purpose I added XDebug (2.2.7) to beautify trace and display
stack, in addition to the debug setup in the header.inc.php file.

The problem is that with eGW traces are not displayed, there is a popup
that notifies an error (red police) and disappears.
Logs can be read in the Apache error_log only, but that’s harder to read.

How can theses errors (var_dump(), html stacktrace) be displayed in the
web explorer ?

Moreover I launched remote debug with eclipse PDT, but after some
execution steps Eclipse freezes, something in eGW make it hang. Did
someone had an experience with such eGW debugging ?

I did manage to launch a stable remote debug with Xdebug + Eclipse PDT.

I’m not sure of what was the problème since I switched my desktop PC to
64 bits (Win7, eclipse, java…).
But this time I also switch Eclipse preference to use the external
browser and not internal one, and I did also configure dedebug with
"remote connect back" on.

eGW uses a lot of AJAX, and random output from the server does not work.
Use the apache error log for easiest results debugging the server side.
You can use error_log(array2string($variable)) to expand arrays & some
objects.
I believe xdebug allows you to specify a log file though, so you could try
a separate log file for your debug and see if that works.

Hello ,

I did not went on trying Xdebug to log on a custom file.
I managed to make Xdebug work as a remote debugger (with Eclipse PHP),
that works great !
