Hello,
I run into a weird behavior while syncing calendar with my good old
Nokia N900 with Maemo5 OS (via “Mail for Exchange”) which should act as
an EAS 12.1 device.
Problem:
When the event has a too long event-decription, the sync from N900 to
server fails. Too “long” means more than about 150 chars.
Syncing from server to N900 doesn’t make any problems, no matter what
length in event description.
Long descriptions don’t cause any helpful error messages in debug.txt.
The server seems to think device/N900 doesn’t have any data to sync and
ends the session normally. N900 tries to restart sync process
immediately and those two steps repeat quite a while until N900 says
"server doesn’t respond".
I am running an up to date svn-trunc version of egroupware (since more
than a year now).
I double checked against https://demo-epl.egroupware.de with user
demo/guest yesterday and got same behavior (successfully syncing event
with short descrition, but failing with long descriptions).
My other android device (Jelly Bean tablet) does not have these
problems, I can write long descriptions and sync them to server.
Don’t know if this is caused by the N900, but I am pretty shure this
used to work before (lets say last month).
I attached two debug.txt snippets with success and failures.
I know esync is not publicly discussed here as it is part of payed EPL
versions, but may be someone here knows how to solve the problem.
Cheers,
Ulle
