Errors with backup / restore

Hi!

I just tried to import a *.zip backup from one eGroupware trunk install
into another eGroupware trunk install and received the following error
messages:

PHP Warning: fopen(compress.bzip2:///tmp/phpP6dIGP.bz2): failed to open
stream: operation failed in
/usr/local/src/egroupware-trunk/phpgwapi/inc/class.db_backup.inc.php on

Have a look in PHP-Info if compress.bzip2 is a registered PHP stream
(only if you have AFAIK bz2 extension installed).

Does the file exists on the server and is a bz2 file?

Have a look in PHP-Info if compress.bzip2 is a registered PHP stream

Registered PHP Streams:
https, ftps, compress.zlib, compress.bzip2, php, file, glob, data, http,
ftp, zip, phar

Does the file exists on the server and is a bz2 file?

It is a *.zip file ant the warnings seem to implement a fallthrough
while trying to guess the tle type.
When I unpack the zip file, there is no encrypted file inside.
However, the above are warnings “only”. The real problem seems to be the
following:

Is ‘system_charset’ missing in $sub_objects (class.egw.inc:599) and
would need to be initalized to
$GLOBALS[‘egw_info’][‘server’][‘system_charset’]?
The system is a new debian-based server.

What could cause this, how is the message to be interpreted?
Did anyone successfully use the backup / restore lately?

No not tested recently, but trying now:
Creating the backup seems to work ok.
Restoring takes mighty long, but seems to succeed.
I know from earlier, as I tested this feature, that restoring with a filestore where the backup exeeded 200MB , just never completed.
(My test now is inly 5.5MB)
I can see while restoring, that I get a mysql error:
CreateIndexSQL(NULL,‘egw_addressbook_extra’,Array ( [0] => contact_name [1] => contact_value ) ,Array ( ) ) sql=Array ( [0] => ALTER TABLE `egw_addressbook_extra` ADD INDEX `egw_addressbook_extra_contact_name_contact_value` (`contact_name`, `contact_value`) )
BLOB/TEXT column ‘contact_value’ used in key specification without a key length
But this is not causing any other troubles.

Not so here. The *.zip file is 8 MB.

Please try to install through setup/index.php. It only works for me if I
install through an intermediate install from the admin panel.

I traced down the Problem in setup/index.php:

Line 372 triggers the error:
$setup_tpl->set_var(‘system_charset’,$GLOBALS[‘egw’]->system_charset);
my install comes along line 299:
case ‘new’
and line 301:
if ($_POST[‘upload’])
As a result, it does not come along line 329:
in which the value $_REQUEST[‘system_charset’] would be respected,
but into another scope:
$GLOBALS[‘egw_setup’]->system_charset = $_REQUEST[‘system_charset’];
…this is in $GLOBALS[‘egw_setup’], not in $GLOBALS[‘egw’]

So either:

the $_REQUEST[‘system_charset’] shall be respected more globally than
line 335 or
line 372,
$setup_tpl->set_var(‘system_charset’,$GLOBALS[‘egw’]->system_charset);
needs to fall back gracely to utf-8 or
class.egw.inc.php needs to know how to handle the case when
this->system_charset is not set. This is obviously not a class, but a
value, which would need to handled separately, e.g. through a
isset($_REQUEST[‘system_charset’])) ?
$_REQUEST[‘system_charset’]) : ‘utf-8’;

Can you please check this?

Hello Ralf,

I am not sure, wether it realy helps in other cases, but I did following things to get rid of this error:

php.ini: zlib.output_compression = On

Go to http://…/egroupware/setup/ and select configuration.

To look up to your old preference:
1| Vollständiger Pfad für Benutzer- und Gruppendateien.
Beispiel: /files, E:\Files
2| “Vollständiger Pfad für das Datensicherungsverzeichnis.
Wenn leer: Dateiverzeichnis/db_backup:” -> serverpathes
3| “Vollständiger Pfad für temporäre Dateien.
Beispiel: /tmp, C:\TEMP:”

vim /etc/egroupware/apache.conf -> setup with adding your
php_admin_value open_basedir … + yourOne (see (2))

Why I had trouble: Updating my old server (egw v1.6) into a new server with egw 1.8
So the pathes was not set yet.
