Hi!
I’m syncing a most recent eGroupWare, trunk, with a SGS2 (GT-I9100),
Android 2.3.4, by esync.
Overall it does the job quiet fine, however, I’m experiencing a weired
behaviour when syncing contacts.
Most contacts from all configured addressbooks were copied onto the
phone. But I got aware that some contacts were missing; it is hard to
say how many contacts are affected, because android has no counter like
egw has.
My preferences for esync:
…
Address books: private, primay group, accounts
…
Sync all addressbooks as one: no
Depending on the underlaying OS and sync programm, you might need to set
this to YES. That’s the case, if only one addressbook is understood. iOS
for example understands multiple addressbooks, so there’s no need to do
that. AFAIK Android only supports one, thought I’m not absolutely sure
about that.

Force sorting on device to: own sorting
…
Changing esync preferences had no effect.
What I have done before, without getting a pointer to what’s going on:
Checked the addressbook tables for irregular strings,
deleted the exchange account on the phone,
checked for a possibly remaining profile on egw,
deleted activesync debug.txt file,
recreated an exchange profile on the cellphone,
and saved debug.txt after the initial syncronisation.
Then searched within debug.txt file for warnings or errors,
searched for warnings or errors in the webserver logs.
Well, what’s weired?
If I just move a contact that’s missing on the phone up to now from my
primary group’s addressbook to my personal one within egw, it gets
synced to the phone … And if I move it back to the primary group’s one,
it is removed again.
Any hints are highly appreciated,
Sebastian
