External images in emails

egroupware-epl (17.1.20181205)

My issue: external images are downloaded and shown in email messages regardless of the relevant setting of the Mail app (Allow external images from listed domains). This is both in the mail-display window, as well as in the preview pane. Not entirely sure, but I don’t think this has ever worked for me.

Hello,

We can’t confirm this feature as broken. Could you please check in your Mail -> Preferences “Allow external images” and make sure it’s set to “Ask for permission”. You also need to make sure that already read images are not cached in browser if you have allowed them once before (Clear browser cache or try it in an incognito tab).

Thank you for getting back to me.
I don’t see that option in preferences:

Tested with preferences as shown on a fresh message, external images are still shown. My mail app version is 17.1

Hi Andi,
It’s most probably forced in your preferences. Please switch to “Forced preferences” from top right corner select box and check the “Allow external images” preference again.
