External notification

Is there a way to get an external notification to the browser like Firefox popup? I tried several configurations in the preferences, but without success.

The one that works best now is the automatic tab change when you are in the browser. If you use another application, no notification is displayed.

Hi Sil.

I (personally) hate notifications like that…

I tested this with Linux Mint, Firefox and Chromium: There’s nothing coming. I have to check it out.

I know that was working, but it might be currently broken.

We’ll have a look, as we definitiv want desktop notifications for the video calls we just added to EGroupware.

Obviously I makes sense to have some amount of user preference for this one, as taste and way to work differ from user to user.

Ok thanks. It’s not my preference, but that of my users.

I forgot to give details about my installation:

Debian stable up to date.
Egroupware 19.1.20200318.

I took a closer look at it because of the notifications for Videoconference.
Please try these two settings:

I’ll probably change the translation to “Windows popup…”. There are still other operating systems

I tried to change this option, but I’m not sure I understand its function. Does it give you access to more choices in the notification preferences?

The « Windows popup back end » was already activated.
I tried to change my notification preferences and only the Egroupware popup triggers something. Here are the screenshots I made:

Hello,
I come back to this subject which for me is not resolved.
What I have noticed is that I get a notification from my browser only after my login or after reloading the page.
After some research, I read that courier-imap does not support the push function. Do you think switching my server to Dovecot could improve notifications?
