Feature request - Start jitsi session without internal user

Hi,

Is it possible to start a Jitsi session from egroupware without needed a logged in user?
If i use own Jitsi installation with password auth and i need to change that to JWT auth (not possible to use same as simultanously), than it would be nice if i can start Jitsi call with external participant. It can be reach with JWT-prosody allow empty token settings, than can connect external clients as guests.

(Maybe would nice too, if would be set skip JWT auth(as option) from egroupware, than the user need authenticate with password)

That is already possible, if you go via addressbook or calendar. It will create an event and email the participants a meeting request with the link to join. Date/time can be in 1min (not in the past!).

It can be reach with JWT-prosody allow empty token settings, than can connect external clients as guests.

Not sure I understand you correct: does that setting allow to join a room without a (valid) token?
So room creation would work only with a valid token, and everyone without would be a guest and has to be let in by one with a token?

I found a couple a links about that, but nothing straightforward. I don’t want to patch the containers, if I can help it

Thanks for quick reply.

Jitsi can work with password like “only one user have to authenticate”, than others can join without password.
If i set JWT auth, then i set “allow_empty_token = true;”, in theory only join others when one participant have token from egroupware, but cant start session without valid token.

If i set calendar event, external participant have to be account in egroupware? or can join without token? If it require egroupware account, than it is a “closed” system.

It would be nice to start random Jitsi session without calendar or addressbook. You know “lets talk about this little problem, only few minutes”. Users don’t want to deal with it start calendar or addressbook, just click and speak, if its important topic.
