Felamimail auto-lookups

I’ve inserted some addressbook entries manually, but they don’t show up in Felamimail (to, from, cc, etc…).

When Felamimail searches in this way, does it look somewhere else besides egw_addressbook ?

OK, after some more testing, I can be a bit more clear.

There is a single addressbook type (contact_tid) that doesn’t look up in Felamimail to/cc/bcc/etc.
When I change the addressbook record to any other type, it works fine. It is only when the contact_tid=d

contact_tid == d
is used for addresses marked as deleted nowadays, that is the reason i think.
and (marked as) deleted addresses will not be found on a search call.

Thanks Klaus! I believe that our addressbook type was created back before d equaled ‘delete’

Now to come up with a “safe” game-plan to change these “D” records

backup
you create a new type
move all d-types to the new type e.g. via SQL
remove the old dt-ype
backup again(, just in case)
done

you may manipulate the addressbook types in egw_config directly.
its a serialized array, so be careful. dame with contact_tid
you may manipulate is directly via sql. it may be faster.

make sure, your D types are not mixed, with “marked as Deleted” addresses
no easy way to solve that one

I did basically what you said, minus the backup, oops

-Made new addressbook type (in egw_config, found the letter it assigned, “f”)
-then SQL: UPDATE egw_addressbook SET contact_tid=‘f’ WHERE contact_tid LIKE ‘d’

No problems so far. Thanks again for your help!
