FeLaMiMail: send mails using the default php function: mail()

hi,

The only way I can send mails with a PHP script is through the default mail() function ( http://uk.php.net/manual/en/ref.mail.php )

It seems to be implemented in phpgwapi/inc/class.phpmailer.inc.php (the function: MailSend() )

But I can’t find how to use it

In emailAdmin, you can only choose between: smtp, postfix or flex

Any idea how to use it?

Hi,

FMail and eGW only sends mail via SMTP. If your hoster does not support
SMTP - which I can not believe - you are out of luck.

Well, ok

It’s strange, because the goal of phpmailer ( http://phpmailer.sourceforge.net/ ) the script used to send mail is to use any “protocol” and mail() is included. So it should be very easy to implement.

I don’t know how egw works, so I’ve change the code of /phpgwapi/inc/class.phpmailer.inc.php directly:

        // Choose the mailer
        if($this->Mailer != "")
        {
          if(!$this->MailSend($header, $body))
              return false;
        }
        else
        {
            $this->SetError($this->Mailer . $this->Lang("mailer_not_supported"));
            return false;
        }

It is not the best way (it will only send mail through mail() even if you choose something else) but it enough for my needs
