Felamimail with IMAP mailbox list issues

Dear developer,
I met with a trouble that felamimail cannot list my ISP’s mailbox although connection is okay.

Connection to this IMAP is okay
Server test with imap test script is okay.
In the tree view, new message could be counted while in the detail item view no mail is listed or displayed.
IMAP to other SP will work. So no worries about my settings.

I am awared that this might not be compatible with RFC. Anyhow it is one of local biggest SP, I hope we could get it work with egroupware.

Dear,

The problem appears when you send from thunderbird,… digitally signed
(*.p7s) emails with attachments: in this cases, because of the
signature, the felamimail fails handling the attachment that doesn’t
show up in the preview. The only way to see the attachment is to
doubleclick the email: it then opens in a new windows and the attachment
is visible.

Meanwhile the turnarounds of the problem are:

do not digitally sign the emails with attachments
doubleclick to open the emails in the panel of the webmail.

Jordi,

I could not read you message when it appears to be digitally signed by ThunderBird. Would you please send me a copy in plain txt ?

I found the sequence link that described my issue even 3 years ago, and in the source code (class.bofelamimail.inc.php) there is a comment as “dovecot has the same problem too”.

I finally understand your message was typed by you, rather than generated by the system.

You misunderstand my message.

Ipad ect could access the same imap account with all message readable
the FOLD could not be listed in the RIGHT PANEL while the new mail number could be calculated in the LEFT PANEL tree view. Before it is listed , I could not tell if messages could be read.

Dear,

I explain again the problem, when I send digitally signed emails from thunderbird,… and these emails have other attachment files (pdf, doc, txt, …), the felamimail fails showing the attachment files in the preview. The “paper clip” that indicates that there are attachments in the email does not appear.

May I explain this issue again?

The inbox folder could be LISTED in your attachment. That is to say, you could read titles in your felamimal.
Further more, you could click on that item of message to read content of your mail.

please read my post here.

UNABLE TO LIST FOLDER , only the count of new message is displayed
NO WAY TO CLICK listed message. Nor could I read any message.

Don’t you think the message " INBOX: no message found" is too obviously incorrect?

Is such clear enough?

Do you see errors in WebServers error_log, when accessing your INBOX?
Can you see messages in folders other than INBOX?
Is this an trunk issue, or 1.8 or even older?
could you provide login/access data to a mailbox which shows the problem?
(or the mailbox; I would need to access the IMAP Server from my developer box to be able to debug communication)
You may pass them on to me via PM (if you want me to look into the issue).

Sorry archer, I read your answer but I don’t have the problem that you says. I see all the messages of the inbox, folders and subfolders.

In the attached image there are two identical emails, the first one have one attachment without digital sign and the other one have the same attachment with digital sign.

The “paper clip” that indicates that there are attachments in the email only appears in the email without digital sign.

If I select the message with digital sign, I can see it in the preview area. But if I want to download the attachment of the digital signed email, I have to double click in it to open the email in a new window.

Maybe I did not express my problem too well, I hope that we can find a solution.

Is this an 1.8, or lower issue?
Mail in question is multipart/signed ?
Could you send me such a message to kl@stylite.de
I will have a look if it is an 1.8 or trunk issue.

Hi.

Must be an issue with an older version or the server environment.
On my system and trunk egroupware, I can send signed messages with or
without attachments and they display fine in the list and preview as
well as a separate window.
The signature is smime.p7s application/pkcs7-signature.
I have sent test messages from thunderbird as well.

@Ingo: The compatibility issue is always uncertain. It might work with most servers, as I have tested, but with very specific IMAP daemon it might not. When it has trouble with most popular SP, I have to think this is a bug because they have billion users overhere and their service proves to work with most client program.
And my issue is nothing about signed attachment anyway. It is unable to list inbox.

@ Klaus:

A: Not really error except few time-out.

A: No. Not any folder could be listed. Felamimail could find how many folders and their names, but it could not list mails in any folder.

A:The version I have difficulty with, is downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/egroupware/files/ , v1.8 Oct2-24 version. I thought it was the most recent trunk but not sure.

A: Sure. A test/demo account would be delivered to you in < 10 minutes.

Who knows, anyway no users complain about qq.com mail. We tried all kinds of android/ios client, it just works!
