Going mad with GD module and Ubuntu Server

Hi all!
First of all, sorry about my english…

WeÂŽve installed EGW in a Ubuntu Server (6.06) OS, and here is the
strange thing: When we check the installation, it says that we need
the 1.8 GD library or higher to be installed. Well, weÂŽve installed
the php5-gd module, checked php.ini file to see if we had that module
running, and it seems to be all OK. We also installed GD libraries,
but the installation check still says that we donÂŽt have GD
installed. Â¿Did that happen to anyone? Â¿Any solution? Thanks a lot!

Did you restart the apache daemon after installing the GD stuff?

Yes we did restart Apache and the server… but nothing happened.We
solved that issue by re-installing all the stuff.
