Help! Can't find php.ini file

I have tried looking everywhere in the file manager (shared server, hostpapa) for the php.ini file, searching etc.
When logged into egroups > admin > php information >
configurations file (php.ini) path /usr/lib
loaded configuration file /usr/local/lib/php.ini

I cannot find where these are located. I need to change the file upload allowance. There is also no .htaccess file, as some other threads suggest.

Try doing:

updatedb

locate php.ini

[Detox]

I can tell you that on a REdHat / Fedora / Centos PC the file is located in the /etc folder

you should be able to find it on your linux system by:

sudo find / -name php.ini

How do I “updatedb” ?

On the command line, as root enter “updatedb” without the double quotes
and wait for it to finish.

Then, type in “locate php.ini” without the double quotes again and it
should come back with the locations the file is in.

To enter a command on my hostpapa cpanel I would need shell access? (which I do not have)
I am a total newbie when it comes to this…
