High Memory Utilization

I’m running egroupware-docker on a Debian 11 instance on Hyper-V with allocated memory of 6Gb. I’ve noticed that the instance is always running beyond 100% memory utilization from the hypervisor manager. Is this normal?

Is this normal?

Yes.

Linux always takes all the memory. What is not directly needed is used for cashing.
Better have a look at the VM. For example, with htop or webmin.

Very generous.
That’s enough for full installation (Collabora Online, RocketChat, Guacamole, …), many open documents under Collabora Online and a lot of users.
But if you have that available…

You should, however, add a processor. At least two.
EGroupware will certainly run more smoothly.

Mr. Stefan, I guess the hypervisor is misreporting utilization, I ran htop within the instance and it’s nowhere near what the hyper-v manager is reporting. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
