How do I view a list of accounts in the general ledger?...found Fatal Error

First, I’d like to say thanks for all the work that’s been put into the
project erp. We’ve installed it and started to use it today.

I’m sorry if I’m sending this to the wrong place. The website was down
and this was the only email address I had.

My accountant is having some problems and I need your help. He is adding
accounts to the general ledger but wanted to know how he can view the
accounts he’s already put in. I’ve found there is a report called
report_general_ledger_listing and I think that maybe what we need to
view the accounts. If there is an easier way, please let me know! Under
the General Ledger permissions, I’ve given him permissions for this
report (and everything else). But when we go to generate the report I
get this error: *

Fatal error*: Class ‘ZipArchive’ not found in
/var/www/egroupware/perp_api/inc/report/ooo.inc.php on line *340

Is the ZipArchive class in one of the files that came with Project ERP
or do I need to download it separately?

Thanks for looking into this! We can’t wait to have the our accounting
system up and running on Project ERP.

BTW, I’m developing a new “Equipment” module to maintain our heavy
equipment inventory, operators, maintenance schedule, and daily work
reports. Please let me know if anyone is interested, and I can pass it
along when it’s done.

The general_ledger_listing lists GL accounts & their activity over a
given time period.
For just checking, you can bring up the Chart of Accounts from the
Sidebox menu (same place as when adding).
You can then select 999 for number of rows displayed, and print that
page if desired.

Double check that you have the zip extension enabled.
http://www.php.net/manual/en/ref.zip.php has some instructions, make
sure to match your PHP version.

You’re right. I think that’s my problem. Although after checking
phpinfo(), I do have zlib enabled. So I’m still playing with my php
configuration to figure out how to get it to work.

Well, I hadn’t considered using it with the resources module. But it
looks like it may be worth looking into more. Our company does heavy
equipment rental so the most critical thing we need is a way to track
the number of hours worked each day. We get this info from hand-written
daily reports that I’d like to transfer into electronic form. And
hopefully, integrate with accounting/invoices. I can see how storing the
equipment inventory in the Resources module could work for us. I would
think the daily reports would still need their own module, but if you
have any ideas of how this could be done differently please let me know.

Also, just curious…do you know if there is a spanish translation in
the works? We’re in Panama and although our accountant speaks English
pretty well. I think he’d understand things better in Spanish. My
spanish isn’t very good or I’d offer to help.

I’d take a deep look at Resources + Timesheet. You should be able to
get most of what you need from the combination of those two. You may
have to write your own module to join them & provide a convenient
user interface. I’d also look at ProjectManager, because it allows
linking of a lot of things, and lots of people would love to be able
to invoice projects.

Edu - leanfuso contributed a spanish translation on 2007-06-25
covering several modules, you could check it out.
