How to install updates of Egroupware 14.1

Hello.

My server are running Egroupware 14.1.20141106-1.1 (SUSE - SLES 11SP2) and I would like to update to 14.1.20150113-1.1.

When I tried to update in other moment, I received error about connection to MySQL Server.

I would like to know what I need to do for I have sucess at the update.

I need to remove the password root on the MySQL?

… but MySQL/DB it’s ok.

I need to run “/usr/share/egroupware/setup/setup-cli.php --update all,admin,password” or I need to remove the root password at the MySQL?

setup-cli.php --update uses database, user and password specified in
your header.inc.php.

So it has nothing to do with password of MySQL root user.

Can you access old egroupware install, or does that also give a database
error?
In that case you need to fix database, user and password in your
header.inc.php.

Hi Ralf.

I did a new install of 14.1 Egroupware and brought the database of a Egroupware 1.6. The system is working, despite having some things to be corrected / adjusted.

But whenever I do the installation updates (zypper up egroupware-epl) at the end of the process (as I believe it invokes the set-cli.php script), there is a mistake, as if he had no access to bank / header due the password.

Although the system still running, I’m always worried if I can not be generating a problem.

Now I found that there is new version available, and would like to install them safely.

Hmm, it could be caused by a database password containing quotes (’ or
") or curly brackets ({}) or something like that.

You can change that password in header admin (lower login of setup).

I heard of that problem a couple of time, but was never able to
reproduce it on my development system or any of our test systems.
