How to use Filemanager for my plugin?

Hello!

i just wanted to know, if there exists any tutorial how to use the filemanager interface for my own plugin?
I tried to understand the function of it with reading the sourcecode of timesheet and infolog, but it was pretty hard to understand.
Could somebody explain what functions I need and how I can register my plugin in the filemanager?

Most apps do not register with filemanager, but with egw_link class to
eg. manage attachments for them. egw_link contains description how to
register with it (“search_link” hook).

If you want to access EGroupwares VFS (virtual file system) from your
app, you can use egw_vfs class and/or vfs:// protocoll/stream-wrapper.

If you’re a bit more specific what you want to archive …

Thank you for this first help, what I want to do is following:
an upload for the users of my plugin, which stores the files with the filemanager, because I want that the administrator easily can see when someone uploaded something.
Concerning the file type I can only say that it would be the best when every filetype would be supportet(which seems to be possible with a hook into filemanager)
