Howto insert appointments using php and external mysql table?

Hi all,

could someone give me some coding help…

I regularly receive excel files containing time schedules for some users of my egw installation.
Up to now workflow was: open, find out own appointments and insert them into the egw-calendar.

To get rid of this time consuming process I wrote some short php scripts to upload the content of the xls files to several mysql tables.
Next step would be to insert them into EGW… Unfortunately I don’t know how to do this.
Calendar-Data look very complex to me within the EGW db (egw_cal, egw_cal_dates, …).

So what I would need is a mysql statement that covers all the needs of EGW to insert an accurate appointment.

Any help would be appreciated.

Consider importing from CSV.
You can save the spreadsheet as a CSV, then use import/export to get
the records in.

thanks for the suggestion. How can I import CSV without user interaction?
Goal is to automate the hole process.

Using CSV looks to me like one step more than necessary…
Actually I already do have the data in a mysql database. So exporting to csv in importing in egw does not look straight forward.

Unfortunately my php skill do not allow me to find out the correct sql statement out of the used php-scripts of egw.

Import/Export lets you schedule imports asynchronously, or you could
use import/export’s command line interface in a script.

Unfortunately my php skill do not allow me to find out the correct sql

It’s already written once, why make another copy to maintain?
The API for eGW apps is in files class.[appname]_bo.inc.php. You can
call the existing API functions with a PHP array, and let eGW deal
with putting all the data in the correct places.
