HTC Evo Android Funambol Setup instructions

Hello All,

Anyone have instructions on setting up Funambol to sync with egroupware? This is what I did

1. Installed Funambol from apps download
2. Server: https://sub.mydomain.com/rpc.php
3. Username: your_username@mydomain.com
4. Password: your_password
5. Contacts: card
6. Calendar: calendar
7. Tasks: stask
8. Notes: snote

When I sync contacts I get 140/140 sent then immediately says sync failed so my setup must be incorrect.

Hi
For what I know, funambol doesn’t support https yet.
Anyway, my setup for android on another device has different remote names:

app remote name
Contacts contacts
Calendar calendar
Notes note

The username should be without domain name (user, not user@domain.org,
just in case).
For me calendar isn’t working, but contacts and notes they do.

Hi urodelo,

Thank you for the reply. I had it working seamlessly with Blackberry and with https and all functionality. Someone has to have it working I hope the respond. There is a syncml android app I found that does work out of the box for contacts and calendar called “4myPalSyncML App” but doesn’t do Task and Notes, in addition I found it doesn’t carry over the Category either.

I had to back down my version of Funambol sync on my android to 9.03. The newer versions did not work for me.

Thanks for the reply. I installed and it’s stuck on “Checking Credentials” when going to egroupware only. Have to do Force Stops… if you ran into this let me know otherwise I’ll keep playing with it.

I got it 9.0.3 to work but had to install 9.0.1 first and Calendar doesn’t sync. I just hit “log out” by mistake and now it’s back to “checking credentials” for 5 minutes now. I’ll keep workin it, anyone has the solution please post.

I am using Funambol to sync contacts on my Galaxy S with EGroupware. This worked fine until a recent update. I also had to downgrade to 9.0.1 to have it work again.

For calendar sync, I do not use Funambol because I want to sync to multiple calendars from different sources. Here, I am using “Calendar Sync for Android” which is working like a charm.

I have Funambol Adroid 10.0.4 on Android 2.3.4 and it syncs calendar and
contacts with my egroup community 1.8.001 installation. No idea how to
sync tasks however.
Did you check to enable “CalDAV, CardDAV und GroupDAV Server” in your
user account settings?

I just noticed that Calendar Sync for Android is discontinued. It works fine for me, however.
Hypermatix (the author of it) has released a replacement called AnDal, but I have not tried it yet.
