IcalSrv login username with

Dear Developpers,

eGroupware allow the use of email address for login.

But on the eGroupWare 1.2.105 the access to the IcalSrv of an user account like first.name dont run correctly.

And give this:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: The session id contains invalid characters, valid characters are only a-z, A-Z and 0-9 in /srv/www/htdocs/egroupware/phpgwapi/inc/class.sessions_php4.inc.php on line 63

Warning: Unknown(): The session id contains invalid characters, valid characters are only a-z, A-Z and 0-9 in Unknown on line 0

Warning: Unknown(): Failed to write session data (files). Please verify that the current setting of session.save_path is correct (/var/lib/php) in Unknown on line 0

Is there a work around or is this feature on the dodo list?

Hi Erwin,

yes there were/are problems with complicated login names.
There has been some discussion on the mailinglist about this.
(You could do a search )
I had a look some time ago, at this problem --that also appears in xmlrpc
access to egw-- but it seemed not easy to solve (for me) at that time.
As far as I know it is not solved yet in newer versions (but I may be
wrong here…)

Feel free to post a bug. And I will mention it also again on the
Icalsrv_Release log.

hopefully it can be solved before the next release so that xmlrpc- and
icalsrv access can use the same login-ids as normal login!

I am currenty develop with Esben the new version of eGWOSync and the login with complicated names works with till the version 1.2.1004 perhaps before (not tested). So xmlrpc seem’s to be compilant with if you use SQL but currently for ADS the password is not treated correctly.

I profit to ask you, if it is possible to allow an anonymous access or a restricted one to the calendar of a resource via freebusy.php or (and better) icalsrv.php.

By that way, the integration with Outlook will be closer.

Hope that these features could be integrated and used by our new version of eGWOSync.

Hi Ralf,

This is correct and works well, thanks.

But my question was what about to access to a ressource schedule (calendar), I try to place freebusy.php?user=r1 for the resource one but no result.

freebusy: Unknow user ‘r1’, wrong password or not availible to not loged in users !!! ()*

The goal is to be able to book a resource from Outlook via eGWOSync like Exchange and see his free busy time.

Miss I some things.

I stand by the development of eGWOSync to synchronize with egw xmlrpc modification.

I think freebusy.php only checks the user table. Specially as for a
non-user you can not specify eg. a password to protect the freebusy
file. Dont think we want it anonymous available in general.

Hi Ralf,

I follow you and agree, but could it be possible to flag an user account to work like a ressource.

Exchange give this possibility to work with resources and book them with Outlook.

I see some users request about Exchange functionalities.

By that way it will be possible to book a resource like a participant in Outlook synchronize with eGOWSync and see it in eGroupWare in the resources calendars.

Probably, we need to create a new variable $account_type “U” for a normal user and “R” for a resource user to separate their calendar between normal calendar and resource calendar.

Could you guide me in eGroupWare code to try to implement this feature.
xmlrpc-users/resources-calendar,or tell me where I can found some dcumentation.

I had a look some time ago, at this problem --that also appears in
xmlrpc
access to egw-- but it seemed not easy to solve (for me) at that time.
As far as I know it is not solved yet in newer versions (but I may be
wrong here…)

Feel free to post a bug. And I will mention it also again on the
Icalsrv_Release log.

hopefully it can be solved before the next release so that xmlrpc- and
icalsrv access can use the same login-ids as normal login!

eGroupware allow the use of email address for login.

But on the eGroupWare 1.2.105 the access to the IcalSrv of an user
account
like first.name dont run correctly.

And give this:
