Icalsrv & mozilla lightning

Hello,
when i create a new event in mozilla lightning, old events in egroupware are modified and only for one event i am Disinvited.
Why?
Is a bug of icalsrv or mozilla lightning?

Icalsrv has quite a few restrictions for what I’ve noticed.

If you invite a group of people in the egroupware calendar app and modify your calendar through Ical the group will be removed from the participants list. This is because Icalsrv can only recognise participants which have a known emailaddress in egroupwaree. The group is copied to the description field.

Today I’ve noticed that a modified calendar event through Ical resulted in one of the participants receiving 13 mails so far telling him the calendar event was modified. All emails were exactly the same.

I’m almost so far to set the ical calendar to readonly because other egroupware users are going crazy but I’m going to investigate a bit further. Working through Ical works much faster.

Has there been any fixes concerning this problem? We also got problems with automatic disinvites using eGroupware 1.4.002!

Icalsrv has quite a few restrictions for what I’ve noticed.

If you invite a group of people in the egroupware calendar app and modify your calendar through Ical the group will be removed from the participants list. This is because Icalsrv can only recognise participants which have a known emailaddress in egroupwaree. The group is copied to the description field.

Today I’ve noticed that a modified calendar event through Ical resulted in one of the participants receiving 13 mails so far telling him the calendar event was modified. All emails were exactly the same.

I’m almost so far to set the ical calendar to readonly because other egroupware users are going crazy but I’m going to investigate a bit further. Working through Ical works much faster.

Thanks Maik: what I missed to write: the error is related to lightning version 0.9pre (trunk version 06/06/08) and not 0.8.

Version 09pre is quite interesting from the point of view that it brings together caldav, icalsrv and google calendar integration.

0.8 already has CalDAV and works well with eGW.

0.9 should implement the CalDAV scheduling extension proposed by Apple
(not yet a rfc). So far I had not time to test with it or implement the
scheduling extension.

As always (financial) support for the effort is greatly welcome.

only supports this via mail, which is not easy to implement for eGW.

Server based invitation and confirmation of events. Current Lighting
only supports this via mail, which is not easy to implement for eGW.

We still encounter this problem (automatic disinvites) with eGroupware 1.6.001 and icalsrv sync with Mozilla Thunderbird (Lightning 0.9). the second an alarm (reminder) pops up in Lightning a mail disinviting the whole group (!) gets sent.

Is there a way we can fix that?
Is there a way to set the iCalSrv readonly for the lightning clients?
