Images via webdav and sitemanager

When viewing sitemanger-site in a blackberry browser … a webdav authentication window pops up and does not show the images via the filemanager.

Any idea’s. (other then not using images from filemanager :-P)

If you need no access control on the images, you can create a simple
uploads directory in your docroot and mount that into EGroupware’s VFS
with a filesystem streamwrapper, evtl. using a
&url=http://domain.com/uploads query-parameter (only makes a difference
in trunk/EPL).

Although I have only did some prelim research to tthe issue.

it appears

the GUI to the mount is only in ELP (unfortunatly our clients are only
using sitemanager and not the rest of EGW so an upgrade to epl for the
function is not finacially feasable.)
When attempting cli.php on one server we get Fatal Error: Class EGW_VFS
not found. I will be walking though later.
Some of our clients who again just use sitemanager, do not have ssh on
thier general shared hosting accounts in order to sucessfully do the mount.

I would like to manually enter the vars into the db or write a small script
to do so. 2 of our programmers already put thier tail between thier legs on
this issue.

I am hoping to work on it tonight in stead of sleep :-P. Ralf what vars/db
colums need to be set in order to do a mount from the top of your head?

I will walk thoguh tonigh but any recolection would greatly be apreciated.

“vfs_fstab” in egw_config is the one you’re looking for. For writing an
own gui, you can use vfs::mount($url,$path).

As you can see there, it’s a serialized array with mount-point as key
and url to mount as value, sorted by ascending length of mount-point.

Eg. serialize(array(
’/’ => ‘sqlfs://default/’
’/apps’ => ‘links://default/apps/’,
’/uploads’ =>
‘filesystem://default/var/www/html/uploads?url=/uploads/&group=Admins&mode=075’,
));

Which would mount /var/www/html/uploads on the server to /uploads in
VFS, give Admins group write rights to it. url=/uploads generate direct
download-url’s with /uploads instead of a webdav url.

Some strange results:

Install 1: (oldest install 5 years of upgrades version 1.9.005)

php cli.php mount filesystem://root_admin:pass@localhost/home/randy/web_root/images?user=randy&mode=0700 /home/randy/imgs

passes is root test but session creation is denied: “Wrong user-account or -password !!!”.

Currrently, “Where should eGroupware store file content: is set to filesystem”. I have 20 gigs of files stored there. I tried to save “custom via mount” but it will not save.

Checked my egw_config and there is no vfs_fstab.

Questions:
is vfs_fstab only set in egw_config when setting "Where should eGroupware store file content: to mount?
if my install was initiated as default filesystem for “Where should eGroupware store file content:” is that why the mount option does not save now?
Any idea why a session would not be created for the setup admin user?

You need to use --user, --password and evtl. --domain, as they are NOT
read from filesystem:// url! You also need single quotes around the URL,
to keep your shell from messing with it.

That’s not the way it work, it will switch automatic to “custom via
mount”, once the above mount command succeeds.

hi randy.
arent you using postgres? We have a known issue, setup values not saving for the reason of transaction control.
for some reason (not further investigated) postgres semms to regard the updates/inserts from within setup as
broken, and does a rollback. if you comment out the transaction stuff in setup/config.php
your stuff will be saved.
If you could care to check the content of $GLOBALS[‘error’] on a dry run first and post it, we may be able to fix
the problem for good.

I migrated our main install from postgres to mysql a number of years ago. I will check the globals for the error when I get back in there this evening.
