Hi,
I do not use debian, but there is a tool, which can install packages.
AFAIK it is called apt-get
use man apt-get to find out, how is it working and try to find an php-imap package.
On other example in my system (gentoo!!! not debian, just an example): I can use
a searching tool to find any imap with this: esearch imap
I found the message here, on the user-list:
"I had the same error message
“This PHP has no IMAP support compiled in”
Using Debian I did:
apt-get install php4-imap
I guess that would be the ‘imap extension for php’?!"
Good luck, István

Hi guys,
I would like to use the Mail features of egroupware, but do not have imap
installed. I know this is a common problem, and I have searched google and
this forum, but I could not find any detailed howto for a linux newbie like
me and for my system configuration
My configuration is:
Linux version 2.6.16.13-xenU-01-NWX gcc version 4.0.4 20060507 (prerelease)
Debian 4.0.3-3
I am running PHP4 with Mysql, Gd and some more extensions.
I would be really thankful for a detailed step-by-step guide on how to
install imap. I have already downloaded c-client.tar.Z but I have never ever
compiled anything before…
Thanks you VERY MUCH lot for your support!!!
