InfoLog export

I have a stand-alone install of EGW v.17 running on a small lan being used solely for the InfoLog. I installed a new VM and it is running the latest dockerized version of EGW. At some point during testing last week I was able to export the infolog from v17 and import it into v.23 in the EGW gui. Since then the export function has stopped working on v.17. Can I do a quick SQL export from MySQL from the v.17 server and then import from the v. 23 Mariadb? If so, which tables do I export and should I truncate the tables in v.23 before the import? Thanks in advance.

Can do anything…
But this can lead to problems with linked tables. Which you may not realise until much later.

Why don’t you do a complete dump (EGw backup) or did you do the migration directly? Then that would be done.

Hi Stephan thank you for your fast response. I think if we can can get v. 17 to do the export that would be the best way. So this is the error I am getting when running the export routine from the gui…

Problem seems to be the update PHP version, not the database.

If you have a new empty 23.1 installation, you should drop all tables of the egroupware database and then install the database dump from the old system. Go to setup (upper login, use setup user admin credentials) and update the database from 17.x to 23.1.

After that you probably need to change some of the configuration settings like directories and webserver-URL.

You should also copy or rsync /var/lib/egroupware/default/files for your old installation to the new one.

An other alternative is to buy some support, and we (EGroupware GmbH) do the update bases on the MySQL dump for you.
