Installing EGR 19.1 in root www

Hello, is there any tutorial how to install EGW in root directory. Insted of https://domain.com/egroupware to just https://domain.com/

Hi,

installation directly in the root is neither recommended nor supported.

It makes the necessary proxying we need for 19.1 very hard.

What we usually do is a redirect of / to /egroupware/

hello, I have separate VPS just for Egroupware and would like to have this in root - as answers will be recieved in subdir and you cannot make caldav and webdav calls directly to root like https://domain.com/groupdav.php …

CalDAV/CardDAV auto-configuration uses /.well-know/caldav (or /carddav), and has no problem running in a subdir.

I can only recommend not to install into the root …

Is this a related to changes in 19.1?
In 17.1, I am able to configure " /var/www/egroupware/ " as the root for " https://egw.domain.com "

It’s no special change in 19.1. Installing in the doc-root was never recommend.

The proxying we do now into the diverse containers, makes it even harder to install in the document-root. Just to give an example: EGroupware’s rocketchat app would use /rocketchat, so does the Rocket.Chat container.
Of cause you can change now the Rocket.Chat container to use some other URL …

I can only say, there is zero benefit from installing in the document root, but a lot of trouble!
(You should redirect / to /egroupware/ anyway, as our proxy config for the RPM/DEB packages do.)
