Installing egroupware 1.8 on one.com

For those of you running on budget hosting…

• create lib (e.g. egw-dir) to install into. Do not use docroot, but inside it is ok.
  This is necessary in order to be able to install jpgraph in parallel.

• copy egw files to egw-dir

• install jpgraph in parallel with egw-dir (google it to find out where to download it…)

• when configuring file locations in the setup, omit the “must be outside docroot”-problem as described here:
  http://egroupware.219119.n3.nabble.com/path-to-user-and-group-files-has-to-be-outside-of-the-webservers-document-root-td3275074.html

• download pear-egw files from e.g. https://build.opensuse.org/package/files?package=eGroupware-egw-pear-1.8&project=server%3AeGroupWare

• copy the egw-pear dir into the egw-dir

• when running the applications setup install egw-pear, then the other applications that are dependent on it.

Thanks for your post.

However, I have trouble installing the latest version (stucked in setup, in the paths configuration)

I had to remove the .htaccess as the part that has to be modified is unclear to me (not a Linux/php expert).

I also tried to modify the setup file as indicated in your other post, but I didn’t succeed.

Isn’t there a simple tutorial on how to install that software on a shared hosting like one.com ?

Help would be appreciated…
