Is there anyone here who has EGW 14.2 with LDAP with Cyrus and Postfix?

I have all working until I made upgrade from 14.1 to 14.2. After upgrade I can’t send mail.
Everytime I tried to send e-mail I got error “Message send failed: Error connecting to SMTP server”.
Receiving e-mails works with no problem.

I spent days, weeks to try solve my problem, but with no success. And I do not know what else to try.
So I need some one who has same configuration (14.2, LDAP,Cyrus, Cyrus sasl, Postfix) and is willing
to help me.

I appreciate any hint,tip or whatever.

I currently use 1.8 in production, but am testing the latest version (14.2)
I use:
OpenLDAP for authentication
Cyrus IMAP for email (using OpenLDAP for authentication itself)
Postfix for outbound email

As postfix is running in the internal network, there is no authentication
required between eGroupWare and Postfix and sending of emails works.
(Tested it 1 minute ago to confirm)

I have debian wheezy. And EGW installed from deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/eGroupWare:/trunk/Debian_7.0/ with apt-get install egroupware-epl.

My SMTP setting in EGW account is (type = standard SMTP server, Authentication not checked, user name and password
empty, SMTP server = localhost, Secure connection = no, port = 25).
Can you confirm the same setting in your EGW SMTP ?

What distribution of linux do you have ? And how did you install EGW 14.2 ?

Can you send me your main.cf and master.cf configuration to my email address "ambruska@email.cz" ?

GET and POST? Those are HTTP-commands, not SMTP.
Did you try connecting to postfix using telnet to see if it actually responds
to a simple HELO command?

(Following 2 lines based on config you mentioned below)
telnet localhost 25
HELO testing

Hi,
Through telnet I can send email without problem.

When I try send via EGW then I got error “Message send failed: Error connecting to SMTP server” in EGW and
I noticed couple errors in apache2 error.log

I tried to install EGW 14.2 manually from egroupware-epl-14.2.20141219.tar.gz today as you suggested.

But in such installation I am not able to create account for all users “Created by setup”. At least I can not find
the way how to do it. And when I create mail account for particular user and try to send or receive mail I got
another type of error.

probably there is connection with errors in apache2 error.log
But I do not know how to fix them.

Hello,
I have the same problem. After the upgrade from 1.8 to 14.1 I do not send emails. So I prefer to stay with version 1.8
Version 14.1 also test a new clean install (currently Debian 64.bit 7) and after creating email me at the email folders appear but reports an error to me:
Ajax request failed: Internal Server Error (500) Server error log should Contain more information about the problem. Trying it again will not help Usually! URL: /egroupware/json.php?menuaction=mail.etemplate_widget_nextmatch.ajax_get_rows.etemplate Date: Fri, 09 Jan 2015 10:17:09 p.m. GMT
I also tried version 14.2 and it’s the same problem.
Also, I do not know what to do?

Through telnet I can send email without problem.

When I try send via EGW then I got error “Message send failed: Error

I tried to install EGW 14.2 manually from
egroupware-epl-14.2.20141219.tar.gz today as you suggested.

But in such installation I am not able to create account for all users
"Created by setup". At least I can not find

How did you managed to create collective account named “Created by setup”
(if you did) for all ysers ?

No, I did not encounter any of these errors.
However, there are several files you need for the manual install:

egroupware-epl-14.1.20141219.tar.bz2
egroupware-epl-egw-pear-14.1.20141219.tar.bz2
egroupware-epl-jdots-14.1.20141205.tar.bz2
egroupware-epl-pixelegg-14.1.20141205.tar.bz2

I think you missed at least one of these.

Hi,
I have egroupware-epl-14.2.20141219.tar.gz version.
Egw-pear was removed at 14.2.20141211-1 version, as no longer necessary.
Pixelegg and jdots directories are in my main EGW installation tree.
But I did not install them separately. There is setup folder and setup.inc.php file in each of these.
But I did not change default settings of any of the setup.inc.php (jdots,pixelegg) . Should I ?

When I run “check installation” of my EGW, tehere are no errors.
Everything checked with green. Except pgSQL,pdo_sqlite which I am not using.

Is there any list of pre-requisites which I should install manually before egroupware-epl-14.2.20141219.tar.gz version ?

tried everything possible, but do not know where the error is.
On the new clean install does not work emails.
I tested Debian 7, Ubuntu 14.04, CentOS 7. I tested my email and gmail. I tested the newly created external email. I tested version 14.1 and 14.2
Email writes an error message. Writes that even when you try to send email.

Just did a reinstall with only the egroupware tar.bz2 file for 14.2 (tje one for 19 december) and sending emails works.

I also use the groups add-on, but doubt that is relevant.

In the install check, I only have the mysql items ‘failed’.

I thing there must be some permission trouble on my installation.
Every time I tried send mail or see content of INBOX folder I got error in apache2 error.log
that have connection (path) to some files or classes that reside in /usr/share/php.
Do you have Horde directory in /usr/share/php and PEAR.php and System.php files in
the same path ?
Can you send output of " php -c /php5/apache2/php.ini -r ‘echo get_include_path()."\n";’ " command ?

Can you send apache2 config file for egroupware ? I mean virtual server configuration and
and htdocs for egw.

Here is my test server (VS, debian 7 64.bit, MariaDB 10.0, Apache2) :

Doesn’t work, see a lot of errors.

Why do you have all those php-config options in the “egroupware” file under
/etc/apache2/conf.d ?

I don’t use those.

Also, can you sanity-check that file? It looks like a left-over from 1.8 as I
see a reference to “gallery” in there.
