I’m running a relatively current version of egroupware-1.6 from svn.
For the last two releases of 1.6 that I’ve pulled from the SVN repo, the
javascript rendering is extraordinarily slow.
Using noscript, I can access and render a monthly calendar page in 1-2
seconds, and firefox is still responsive.
Allowing javascript, the page takes 45-60 seconds to finish loading, and
firefox becomes a resource hog. Switching to/from the egroupware window
takes several seconds (20-30) for the page to refresh, and adding events
can be painful.
I briefly toyed with firebug (with YSlow) to see if I could figure out
any issues on my end. Unfortunately, not being a developer, I didn’t see
anything bite me.
Is there any way to speed up javascript processing?
FWIW, I’ve verified this issue with firefox 3.0.x, firefox 3.5 and
konqueror on Ubuntu.
