Hi All!
I’ve been using eGroupware for a while now, very useful software, thanks!
I have recently upgraded the OS of my server machine, whilst doing so I also
changed from 32 to 64 bit machine.
Unfortunately I have a problem with another application that may require the
removal then re-install of PHP on the system. I have a mySQL dump of the
database which eGroupware used, but to remove the PHP I must also remove
eGroupware (direct dependency).
If I remove eGroupware with PHP and then re-install both can I easily use my
old (to be restored) database? Or must I start again with a new database and
re-synchronise, or copy individual records (contacts, calendar events, etc)
later?
Deinstalling EGroupware does NOT delete database nor files stored in
EGroupware. EGroupware config file /var/lib/egroupware/header.inc.php
gets renamed to header.inc.php.rpmold.
If you install EGroupware again it will fail, because it detects
existing database named “egroupware”. At that point you can simply move
your old header.inc.php.rpmold to header.inc.php and everything is
working again.
I hope it is easy! Thanks for your time!
You are welcome, thought that’s more a question for user then developers
list.
